It’s now the biggest franchise in movie history: Since the first Iron Man movie in 2008, Marvel has built its own little universe, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Die-hard superhero fans can’t wait for a new movie to come out. Between it there are now many bridge chains. Now begins the second movie of Doctor Strange, one of these superheroes, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, “Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness.”
Hero and anti-hero versions in another multiverse
It is a game of levels, temporal, spatial and spiritual, which Marvel has now perfected almost to perfection and has begun in recent films, especially the recent Spiderman movie “Spiderman: No Way Home”. Jumping between different worlds, parallel worlds, or multiple universes, as they are called in the comic language.
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” now takes this to the extreme. Director Sam Raimi explains in an interview: “In other films, they slowly introduced the existence of the multiverse. Then in the last Spider-Man, characters from other multiverses appeared in our world. But this is the first time our heroes have appeared, we as viewers travel to another multiverse. So we see other parallel universes, and more importantly, other versions of heroes and enemies of heroes.”
Benedict Cumberbatch, starring Doctor Strange
Translated into the film’s plot, this means: Doctor Strange – a formerly talented neurosurgeon, now a magician, multiple world savior and part of the ultimate superhero team, the Avengers – must travel to save Chavez’s young America. Her across different universes in order to bring about a disaster.
“Things are out of control. If you break the rules, you’re the hero. If you do that, you’re the enemy.”

Elizabeth Olsen stars alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
What seems too vague here is entirely intentional. The distributor is again asking Disney not to reveal too much of the story, potential guest appearances, cross-references and turning points. The story here is very simple and is only told in a roundabout way. With a lot of work and fuss. According to Al-Rimi, his goal was to confuse viewers as much as possible.
“The more obvious the differences in the characters become, the more confusing it becomes,” Al-Rimi says. “It’s about seeing all kinds of differences in the characters we like. That’s the confusing thing. It’s not about showing an evil version of them. It’s about showing someone 99 percent who you can be the same with. But the one percent is different. And we We realize that anything is possible if you just let go of your instincts for a moment, become stubborn, or for a moment lose your voice from your shoulder. It’s a fact that it can become like this. It only drives us crazy.”
Unfortunately, Doctor Strange’s downfall is very deep
Above all, the movie is crazy. Director Al-Rimi, an acclaimed expert on horror films, uses the full keyboard of the genre. There are references to Nosferatu, Frankenstein, witches, golems, zombies, and corpses. Many viewers expected. Practical experience not only in films, but also in individual series is a prerequisite to keep up with it at all.
It seems that Marvel once again is just setting the course for everything that can and should come in the future rather than telling a story. After the brilliant “Spiderman: No Way Home”, the fall height for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” was very high. Unfortunately, Doctor Strange’s downfall is very profound.
