“The Walking Dead” gets another show. Isle of the Dead follows Negan and Maggie stranded in New York. The series is coming to AMC next year.

- American station AMC has confirmed a new show called “The Walking Dead”.
- The movie “Island of the Dead” will show the enemies of Maggie and Negan in New York.
- The launch is scheduled for 2023.
Fans at least partially suspected it and now it’s been confirmed: Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) from “The Walking Dead” is getting his own show. But surprisingly, he shares it with his opponent Maggie (Lauren Cohan). The Isle of the Dead is slated for release in 2023.
In the new series, Negan and Maggie end up in post-apocalyptic Manhattan that has been cut off from the mainland. There are undead and survivors in the devastated city, which “makes New York City its own world full of chaos, danger, beauty and horror,” according to the official series description from American radio station AMC.

How Negan ended up in New York with Maggie remains to be seen. After all, Negan turned his back on Alexandria and more importantly Maggie in season 11 because he was sure she would kill him in the end. Negan brutally murders Maggie Glenn’s husband with a baseball bat in Season 7.
Eli Journé will be the model for the new series, which will also feature TWD Content Director Scott M. Gimple. Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan also serve as executive producers. The first season consists of six episodes.
The Isle of the Dead could restore momentum to the “The Walking Dead” franchise with its urban setting. After the end of the original series, you can also look forward to two other separate shows: “Tales of the Walking Dead” and a class with Carol and Daryl. In addition, the end of the “Fear of the Walking Dead” was not yet in sight.
It is not yet clear where the spin-offs will be shown in Germany. Possible streaming homes are Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. ‘Island of the Dead’ can be streamed on TV at ProSieben Fun.
