“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” will be released in German cinemas on May 4, 2022. At the heart of the story is Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, this time joined by Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximov (“WandaVision”). Together they venture into the vastness of the multiverse!
Several rumors have already been circulated in advance about the heroes that will appear. The successful appearance in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has once again raised expectations. From the “X-Men” movies to the “Fantastic Four,” everyone was seen as a potential candidate to enrich the multiverse.
Logically, not every theory can be confirmed and every Marvel fan is satisfied, but “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” does not disappoint. The movie feels like a wacky-hot Marvel fever dream: horror, cameos, twists and immersive battles!
Herein lies the strength of the film. Once you really start, you’re in the middle of the action and can barely escape the pull of the movie. Several creative ideas from director Sam Raimi make “Doctor Strange 2” an absolute fan film.
But as much as the fan-fever dream entertains and weasels, there are also dramatic problems. Especially at the beginning of the movie, there are a few moments where you have to accept that some things are the way they are. How it happened doesn’t really matter.
It’s a shame because “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” contains many wonderful and emotional insights centered around Doctor Strange’s relationships with Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), Wong (Benedict Wong), Mordo (Chewitel Ejiofor) and transforming yourself in private.
Wanda’s internal struggle was only touched upon. Ultimately, all emotional and personal conflicts lead to a round, and above all, effective ending, in which feelings become believable. But as a viewer, you often don’t know exactly where the movie is going.
The ideas and dynamics between the characters are brought up and permeated, and only in the end do you often understand why. But then you ask yourself if it is possible to present certain elements more subtly. This leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste that comes later. Because during the movie and soon after it you don’t have time to deal with it.
Doctor Strange 2: A movie whose contradictions are gladly overlooked!
Character after character is thrown at us, and the first spotlight follows the next and amidst all the turmoil that Elizabeth Olsen in particular manages to deliver an emotionally moving performance. It’s her best acting performance so far in the MCU, perhaps ever.
Of course, this is also due to the fact that her character Wanda aka Scarlet Witch in “Doctor Strange 2” has a lot to do. Of course, they don’t miss their co-stars, and while Benedict Cumberbatch and Zuchitl Gomez emerge as Chavez’s newcomers and are widely lauded, we’re spotlighting Benedict Wong as Wong at this point.
The character currently appears frequently in Marvel films, most recently in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Often dismissed as an axiom or a side note, Benedict Wong delivers a cool, sweet take on his role and is just plain fun.
The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) theatrical adventure is “Thor: Love and Thunder,” which hits German cinemas on July 6, 2022. Waiting time is filled with “Mrs. Marvel” series that starts on Disney+ in June. We bring you all the new Marvel releases!
A crazy and hot fan’s dream that captivates us!
Marvel Adventure is so colorful, dark and weird that it’s hard to get into at first. But that Marvel madness quickly leads us to the movie, and that’s what makes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness so much fun. Thrilling music, strong actors and a hit debut – Marvel fans can’t help but be amazed!
