OLED model for the ultimate gaming experience

The Nintendo Switch family has recently grown with one model. The new console with OLED display is a must for gamers and families who travel a lot. Win a Nintendo Switch OLED with the three games “Super Mario Odyssey”, “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and “Metroid”.

Favorite games on the go

With the new Nintendo Switch OLED model, you can experience your favorite games with more intense colors and higher contrast. The 7-inch OLED display, with a narrower bezel than its predecessor, delivers a more impressive gaming experience on the go. The portable and table modes that make up the Nintendo Switch have received a major upgrade in the new model.

You can easily use your Nintendo Switch as a powerful TV console, in manual mode or on a table. The video game console can be seamlessly and easily switched from one mode to another enabling a whole new gaming experience in every situation. It is easy to do wherever, whenever and with whomever you want. When you’re on the go, you can play your favorite games with the toggle switch either in your hand or with the help of the adjustable stand on the table. When you get home, connect your Nintendo Switch to the station and you can continue playing on the TV screen. You can even connect the console to up to eight other devices for your friends. It is played with Joy-Cons, which act as controllers and are easy to use.

Nintendo Switch OLED prototype under test

We have already tested the latest Nintendo console for you. The Switch received the most significant changes in the display and the look of the device itself, and what immediately catches the eye is the larger screen that has grown from 6.2 inches on other Nintendo Switch models to 7 inches. Thanks to the OLED screen, the colors are richer and the image looks sharper and clearer than the previous LCD screen. Thus, the Nintendo Switch OLED is now also at the cutting edge of technology when compared to the screens of smartphones and tablets. This increases the fun in both portable and tabletop modes. However, unfortunately, this effect is not transmitted to the TV when the switch is connected to the terminal. Software and performance have not changed with this update. So the OLED model (and the extra cost of around CHF90) is primarily worth it if you mostly play in manual or tabletop mode and use your Nintendo Switch on the go. The appearance of the games has been clearly improved with the screen and games, as well as through the improved screen, more fun. Battery life was also convincing in the test and again increased slightly compared to the predecessors.
