Jason Aretha shared his anger on TikTok at those who contract severe forms of Covid-19 after refusing a vaccine and then saturating hospitals. His wife, who was diagnosed with cancer, had to leave the hospital for these reasons.

The United States has the highest daily average of new coronavirus cases: one in five new cases of Covid-19 worldwide every day. Thus, tensions are high between those who do not believe in the seriousness of the epidemic and others. In this context, the situation in the hospital is tense and the beds are deficient. And this is at the expense of people with chronic diseases, such as those who suffer from cancer.

This is the case of Marilyn, an American with breast cancer. Her husband, Jason Arena, has been speaking on TikTok in recent days in a video full of anger and emotion recounting the consequences of this hospital saturation. He particularly attacked people who have not been vaccinated, and who end up in the hospital after being infected. “Why aren’t 99% of those infected with Covid virus in hospital vaccinated?” , asks himself.

“If you don’t think Covid really exists, you think it’s nothing and you really think you don’t need to be vaccinated, that’s your right. I won’t argue about that. On the other hand, I want to discuss the fact that you run to hospital as soon as you contract the virus.”deplores. People who don’t believe in the seriousness of the coronavirus ask: If they don’t believe in a vaccine to treat them, why do they think the hospital can save them? “If you really think the covid virus is not serious, prove it: stay home!”

His wife can’t get proper cancer care

Very angry, the man shows the direct consequences for his wife, Marilyn, who has stage 4 breast cancer: “She was in the hospital for two days. On the third day, she could honestly have stayed an extra day, maybe even two. But on the third day instead of being discharged. […] They told us that she had to leave the hospital because they no longer had a room available due to Covid.”.

Very active on social networks, the family launched a clothing line and clothing line to support Marilyn emotionally and financially. In the United States, the private health system results in patients’ families having to take on heavy debts to care for their loved ones. In France, the hospital situation has been tense in the West Indies since August 2021, as triage of patients began in Guadeloupe. Since Friday, August 20, people over the age of 50 are no longer admitted to intensive care due to a family shortage of these services.
