Hornbach Baumarkt AG has decided to lease a new logistics property in Panattoni Park Speyer. The logistics property located in the Rhineland-Palatinate will be handed over to Hornbach in November 2021 by Panatoni, the project developer of industrial and logistics properties in Europe. The family-run company based in Bornheim near Landau in the Palatinate is one of the largest operators of DIY megastores with garden centers in Europe. Hornbach will use the property as a warehouse and shipping and distribution center in the future.
Logistics real estate makes it possible to deal with water pollutants
On an area of 31,125 square metres, Panattoni has developed a total usable area of 19,881 square metres. Of this, 17,639 square meters are logistic space, 877 square meters are offices, and 1,365 square meters are mezzanine. The height of the building is 10 meters UKB. By laying a special film to seal the floor in accordance with the provisions of the WGK (Water Hazard Classes), it became possible to deal with substances hazardous to water on the property. Two trucks and 47 parking spaces will be created outside. Due to the direct proximity of the B9 federal motorway and the A 61 federal motorway, the logistics center is well connected with the A 6 / A 5 junction in the direction of Karlsruhe, Frankfurt and Mannheim.
Panattoni Park Speyer is being built on a former food packaging production site. To this end, Panatoni has been revitalizing the area since the end of 2020 and is implementing a variety of sustainability measures. In addition to the construction of the property according to the DGNB gold standard, a soakable parking space has been developed. In addition, there are measures for the design of the landscape facade and the preservation of native plants. In close cooperation with Stadtwerke Speyer, the developer is installing a full-surface photovoltaic system on the roof of the new building. This not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions, but also generates green electricity for the area.
