“You can’t excite with everyone”

She is the former ‘Bachelor’ nominee, the former ‘Bachelor’ nominee David Friedrich and now the new ‘Bachelor’ herself. look complicated? Maxim Herbord explains in an interview – her past, her future, and her “own way” of finding the right person in the RTL programme.
Maxime Herboard is now searching for the man of her dreams as RTL’s eighth “Bachelorette”. In 2018, she was still competing for Rosenkavalier Daniel Völz as the “Bachelor” nominee, but left the show voluntarily. The relationship with musician and former “Bachelor” participant David Friedrich also failed in early 2021.
In an interview, the communications designer from Herzogenrath revealed not only the reasons for love. It also reports how you felt after the breakup and what you’re looking for in a new partner.
In 2018, you voluntarily left the Bachelor’s class and remain proud of your decision. Did you find it difficult?
Maxime Herbord: It was a very difficult decision for me at the time. For me, that was the right choice, but it’s still never a good idea to address this openly and honestly. It can’t work for everyone, and that’s not how it works in the real dating world.
Why do you think “single” will find great love now?
I have a chance to get to know 20 different characters. An opportunity to compare them and see what suits me best. I am fully prepared to participate, and these are the best conditions for the trip.
How can your ‘Bachelor’ experience help you as a ‘Single’?
I know exactly how tense you are on the first night. I can still remember how I felt as a candidate at the time. There are a lot of different impressions and I just want guys to feel comfortable. I think it’s good for all of us to have had this experience before.
You are already the eighth “bachelorette” and, according to your own statements, “not very sexy, but humorous” compared to your ancestors. What do you want to do differently from others?
We all have our own story. We are all completely different and have our own way. So I can’t even say what I want to do differently. But I want to find a man for myself, and do it my own way.
How would you describe yourself on a first date?
I look at everything very carefully. How the conversation is going, whether we look at each other a lot, but above all, whether you are comfortable. If that’s the case, I can be 100%. Otherwise, you’re usually a bit nervous at the first meeting.
In your introduction as “single” you said, “I’m as happy now as I’ve ever been in my life.” what is the reason?
I know who I am now. Know what I like and what I don’t like. Know my strengths and weaknesses. There is always something new to learn and there is always room for improvement, but you have to be at peace with yourself to be happy.
What do you want more from a new partner?
Loyalty, empathy, warmth and respect are at the top of the list. What I absolutely don’t like is this classic masculine pretense. Living in 2021, we women can be just as cruel.
Her grandparents were role models for her when it came to relationships. why?

My grandparents met at the age of 14 and supported and loved each other unconditionally until the last day. There is nothing more beautiful for me.
Her separation from David Friedrich became known in February. How did you pass the time after the breakup?
I used the post-breakup time for myself and it worked really well for me. I lived with my mother for a while and then moved into my new apartment.
Why didn’t it work and what would you do differently in a new relationship?
Some relationships last and some don’t. After a long quarantine, it turns out that it is not working properly. We have drifted apart and knew at one point that it is better to be happy alone or with a new partner than to be unhappy as a couple.
They often showed themselves as a couple in public and on Instagram. Would you do the same thing again in a new relationship?
My last relationship was public, but I still appreciated a little privacy. There are moments that you as a couple should enjoy, appreciate and address or clarify. This is exactly how I will enter into a future relationship.
Do you dream of a wedding and your family?
Yeah. At some point I really want to start my own family.
