The combination of Josh Allen and Christian Benford turned the tide of Sunday's game against the Blues.

According to Tyler Sullivan, especially in the AFC East, where they are second to the Patriots at 11-2, the Week 14 win put Buffalo in New England.

"The importance of the layup against the Bengals cannot be overstated. After erasing a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter and winning 9-4, Foxboro kept the Patriots within striking distance. The win kept the Bengals in the Wild Card spot."

The first came in the third quarter, when he rushed 75 yards on nine carries to open the first half and connected with tight end Dalton Kincaid on a sweep in the end zone.

In response to a Bengals punt in the fourth quarter, Allen moved quickly, going 68 yards in less than a minute. This time, he picked himself up, picked off a defender, took him into the end zone and ran 40 yards.

Benford dramatically increases Bengals' chances of winning |Alaina Getzenberg, ESPN

On Sunday, Benford was the only sack against quarterback Joe Burrow for an eight-yard loss late in the first half, part of a key stop for the Bills to stop Cincinnati's offense. He also had a quarterback rush, a tackle for loss and a pass defensed.

The most memorable play, however, came in the fourth quarter when Buffalo needed it most.Benford jumped, intercepted Burrow's pass and returned it 63 yards. That gave the Bills their first lead of the afternoon.

Alina Getzenberg not only emphasized the importance of the play, but also emphasized Benford's play against wide receiver Jamar Chase.According to Getzenberg, he did not allow Chase to catch a pass the entire game, becoming the third quarterback to do so in 2025.

"Down by three points with 5:35 left on Sunday, the Bills had a 16.2% chance to win against the Bengals. Cincinnati drove, and Buffalo's defense had no answers. But then cornerback Christian Benford jumped in front of Joe Burrow's pass and threw it all away. Winning...on a play outside the final two minutes of NFL 2016."
