December is here and the race for awards continues.This week has seen a slew of awards season announcements, ranging from the Gotham Awards, New York Film Critics Circle winners, Independent Spirit Awards nominations, and Atlanta Film Critics Circle winners.In addition, we have received National Board of Review awards, including the Top Ten Films of the Year, as well as the AFI Top Ten Films list.Now we're adding Critics' Choice Award nominations to show us where the season is headed.Because the CCA has more nomination slots than most other awards bodies, there are often not as many contenders to consider, but there are still plenty of surprises.
