Tonight we brought you our best look at Silent Hill: Townfall, the next installment in Konami's classic survival horror series developed in Scotland.

Tonight we got our best look yet at Silent Hill: Townfall, the next installment in Konami's survival horror series set and developed in Scotland.

In the previous trailer that was shown during the broadcast of Sony's Game Mode, then a special Konami dedicated to the Silent Hill Distribution episode, fans got to see the beautiful place of St. Amelia's fog and the main character of the game Simon Ordell, both in Townfall in first-person view.

Made by Scottish development team Screen Burn (of Untold Stories and Famous Observations) and published by Annapurna Interactive, the game is likely to offer a unique take on the Silent Hill formula while retaining some key elements.

So yes, you can defend yourself against terrifying enemies with wooden planks, pipes, and a shotgun. But you can also use stealth to sneak and hide - equipped with a portable 'CRTV' device.

The analog-looking CRTV handheld is a tool to display the narrative (and you'll need to adjust it during gameplay), but it's also a clever way to display enemy outlines while you're in cover.Outlines of said enemies appear in the static, which is a smart touch.

Townfall's story is designed to be a mystery, with Ordell waking up repeatedly in St.A moment in the Silent Hill broadcast emphasized the fact that he wore a hospital tag on his wrist.Could it all be a dream or a hallucination from a coma?

Tonight's game preview is over with no word on when we'll be playing Downfall on our own (several references about 8-19 in the trailer make me think it is set for August 19th, but this has not been confirmed.) However, it is now available for wish list on PlayStation and PC via Steam and Epic Game Store.
