There is a bitter struggle in the economy for future skilled workers. In order to arouse the enthusiasm of young people to work in these fields at an early stage, the Ideas Fair is being held in Hannover. Of course, Volkswagen will also be present.
Wolfsburg / Hannover. In the midst of the transformation, Volkswagen needs one thing above all else to succeed in the future: skilled workers for the big jobs of the future. When it comes to hiring, the company also uses new, somewhat unusual approaches with College 73 or School of Programming 42 Wolfsburg. At the Ideas Fair in Hannover, Volkswagen is now looking for experts almost directly to the source.
The event, which began on July 2, is Europe’s largest youth science and technology event. For nine days, schoolchildren can discover all kinds of exciting careers in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology – the so-called MINT subjects – and get the information firsthand. Until July 10, 280 exhibitors present more than 720 hands-on exhibitions and more than 750 workshops. On an area of more than 100,000 square meters, spread over three large exhibition halls and large parts of the outer area of the former World Expo, young people can experience 13 exciting subject areas. The goal is to inspire young people to pursue a career in this field.
