There is a trick
From May 1, Vodafone will activate three already encrypted pay-TV channels from the ProSiebenSat.1 wallet. TECHBOOK knows what it is — and why customers shouldn’t be happy too soon (or better: not too long).
‘ProSieben Fun’, ‘Sat.1 emotions’ and ‘Kabel Eins Classics’ – These three pre-coded pay TV channels will be activated in Vodafone’s media library from May 1. With this, the operator gives its television customers a small gift; But with an expiration date.
Vodafone customers (temporarily) get three new channels
Vodafone customers can receive new channels from ProSiebenSat.1 free of charge for approximately seven weeks if they are using a GigaTV, Horizon Box or Smart Card. During this time, some content must also be available for the full 30 days; A normal week.

On June 20, the “weeks of taste” are over, and the fees for freely available channels will be refunded for a short time. In the end, Vodafone will probably make a gift of itself – should some customers taste it and subscribe to pay TV channels in the future.
Changing the entertainment offer in Vodafone
Millions of people in Germany receive their television programming via cable. The vast majority of these use Vodafone and have to get used to the changes in the available content. The provider adjusts the channel selection for its cable TV viewing on a regular basis – so far, quite normal. The fact of adding something for free is likely a proposition of compromise for customers: in 2021, the company had just thrown an entire chain of SD channels out of the program.
