WARSAW – Table tennis star Timo Boll struggled to win the round of 16 duel at the European Championships in Warsaw.

His national teammate Benedict Duda of TTC forced 40-year-old European champion Schwalbe Bergneustadt in the decisive seventh sentence. In the end, Paul triumphed 4-3 and already meets fellow Swede club-mate Anton Kallberg of Borussia Dusseldorf in the evening’s top eight from 7.40pm. The 23-year-old defeated Ruwen Filus (TTC Fulda-Maberzell) 4-1.

In the women’s category, Sabine Winter also won her fifth match in this European Championship after two qualifying matches and two main matches. The 28-year-old from TSV Schwabhausen surprisingly defeated the rankings 21 in a German duel on Saturday. Han Ying of Poland’s KTS Tarnobrzeg with 4:1. Also in the women’s quarter-finals, three German players Winter, Petrissa Solga and Shan Xiona will take place on Saturday evening.
