Sources: Rangers and Mets reach agreement to trade Marcus Semien and Brandon Nimmo –

The Mets and Rangers have agreed to a trade that would send second baseman Marcus Half to New York and outfielder Brandon Nimmo to Texas, sources said.

Sources include:

NIMMO, 32, agreed to waive the clause of the commercial trade, allowing it to wait for the confirmation that they started him with the days of 2011.

Semien, a three-time All-Star, joined the Rangers in 2022 and won a World Series with them the following season.

Texas entered the offseason looking for areas to save money, with salary cuts and four players -- Semien, shortstop Corey Seager and right-handers Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi -- slated to make more than $25 million next year.While the Rangers will actually take more long-term money from Nimmo, who is owed five million dollars annually, with 101 for next season.Semien is set to make $72 million over the next three seasons.

Business is a busy winter for both groups - especially for parents.At the end of the team's 3-month hiatus, New York escaped the police secession at the end of the season and finally got a significant rotation in the staff of the training coach.Semilings - who has his second Gold Glove - is in talks with President of Baseball Operations David F. Winters.

SEMIEN, 35, has missed five and a half years of this season, not playing again after doing the foot on the second day on the injured list.

Before the loss, he had six hits in half of 615 games since joining them before the 2022 season.Four seasons in Texas.

In 1,629 career games with the White Sox (2013-14), Athletics (2015-20), Blue Jays (2021) and Rangers with 253 homers and 801 RBIs.He set career highs with 45 homers and 102 RBIs in his only season with the blue jays before leaving Texas in free agency.DOING

Nimmo is hitting .364 in his career, including 583 starts.He has 312 home runs in each of the last three seasons since 1,022, a career-best 102.

Most of his hits this season have come through the middle of the batting order, and he's hitting .262 (the same as his career average) with single-season highs of 25 homers and 92 RBIs in 155 games.He has 135 homers and 463 RBIs in 1,066 games.
