sPX / Prol. Renault’s mobility subsidiary Mobilize presents its first model at the IAA in Munich. The electric limousine called limo will be used as a vehicle for ride-hailing services and taxis in the future. After the first show of the trade fair, 40 vehicles will go into trial operation.
The 4.67-meter four-door model is based on the Ezoom Yi electric sedan, which Renault recently introduced in China with its local partner Jianling. A 60 kWh battery provides the power source, making travel distances of up to 450 km possible. Thanks to the DC fast charging connection, the battery should be filled in about 40 minutes.
You can’t buy the Mobilize Limo, instead Renault is planning a subscription model that includes special services in addition to the car. The main target group is transportation providers such as Uber, Lyft and Didi. The company does not say in which markets Renault wants to offer the electric sedan. In Germany, at least, classic car booking services are not yet considered legal. However, Mobilize’s offer will be expanded, in addition to other services, to vehicles bearing the Duo, Hippo and Bento names.
