Next week, Sega will re-release four Sonic classics as a revised overall bundle: Sonic Origins includes Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD, each of which can be tried in different game modes. What these are has now been explained in more detail.
Sonic Origins will…
The new Anniversary mode makes all four parts playable in 16:9 format and supplies the blue hedgehog with an infinite number of lives. By collecting coins, you can unlock additional attempts in special stages as well as additional content for a digital museum featuring art, music, and videos. Due to the classic mode, the games are also available in 4:3 format with a limited number of lives.
Story mode also includes all four games and combines them in chronological order with an animated opening sequence and credits to create a cohesive adventure. In the Boss Rush, Sonic alternates with Dr. Face Robotnik, Metal Sonic and more opponents while you wait for different missions to be completed in Mission Mode. Mirror mode can also be activated for all parts, as Sonic passes through the plane from right to left.
Sonic Origins will be released on June 23, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
