Dresden – More comfortable driving with ‘NEOCX’: The newly established specialist in vehicle software wants to make design, operation and functionality while driving easier. Behind her are two old friends – the car maker Volkswagen and TraceTronic, a division of TU Dresden.

If the car was used as a machine, today it is better to compare it with a “mobile computer” that constantly needs new software updates.

That’s exactly what Dresden-based Tracetronic has specialized in, and is now on the road all over the world with locations in the USA, Korea, China and Japan.

Since Friday, TraceTronic has been working with VW: in the newly formed neocx joint venture, in which both companies hold a 50 percent stake.

How does collaboration work? Example: Vehicle software for all models of Volkswagen’s all-electric identifiers will receive automatic updates in the future every twelve weeks, which neocx tests in advance and then integrates.

The head of the Dresden Economic Development Agency, Robert Frank (44), openly welcomed the initiative, after all, Dresden, and therefore Saxony as well, would benefit from cooperation – with new jobs in a three-figure range.
