“Simon Raab is a strong goalkeeper and the perfect addition to our attack. With him, Fabian Schleusner, Mikkel Kaufmann, owner of Batmaz and Stefano Marino, we now have a versatile offensive team,” says Oliver Kreuzer, Karlsruhe sporting director.

Raab, who wears the number 7 shirt, played for FC Vaduz in Switzerland last season, where he scored 16 goals in 24 matches. The 29-year-old striker can certainly be described as a migratory bird in recent years. Since January 2019, he has played for St. Gallen, FC Thon, FC Lausanne-Sport, Romanian club Sepsi OSK Sfantu Gheorghe and most recently Vaduz.

“I am looking forward to the fans at Wildpark and to the great football in Germany. I’ve only seen it on TV so far, so I’d better give it a try now. I want to play a steady season in Karlsruhe and then we’ll see what’s possible,” says the new man.

Raab joined the team in Neukirchen am Grosvendeger on Saturday night and will start there Sunday morning, like the rest of the team, with his first training camp session.
