Joe Milton III Drafted by Patriots, Doubling Up at Quarterback

The New England Patriots took a chance on former college quarterback Joe Milton III in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. Standing at an impressive 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, Milton is known for his arm strength and size. Despite his physical talents, he is still in need of development, which is something the Patriots are willing to provide as they selected Drake Maye to be their starter.

Milton began his college career at Michigan before transferring to Tennessee, where he made a name for himself in his final season by winning the Orange Bowl MVP. In that season, he threw for 2,813 yards, 20 touchdowns, and only five interceptions, catching the attention of NFL teams.

The Patriots see Milton as an intriguing prospect with his arm strength and size, and are willing to invest in his development as a quarterback. While it may take some time for Milton to make an impact in the NFL, his progress alongside Maye will be closely watched during the Patriots’ preseason.
