This is a video that raises questions. In his office appears the mayor of the besieged Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. So far, so good. But what adorns the wall behind Vitali Klitschko does not quite fit the picture: A picture of Russian President Putin and the Russian flag. But Klitschko’s statement does not quite fit: “My friends, dear citizens of Kyiv, Kyiv will continue to defend itself. There are no Russian troops in the capital,” the former boxing supporter explains in the Ukrainian-language video. According to RTL research, it was launched online on March 17 in the pro-Russian Telegram group.
So what’s the deal with video? According to RTL research, it’s fake. Maybe use video makers Which Vitali Klitschko actually posted on February 27 and edited the background: A photo of Putin was added later. In addition, the yellow color, which is actually the Ukrainian flag, was painted red – so it became the Russian flag. The original video has also been shortened. (jumw)
