Forza Horizon 5, Crysis 3 Remastered, and more with Ryzen 5 5600X up to Core i9-12900K

Every year, computer games, 3D graphics, and hardware reinvent not only themselves, but also our demands in our standards. Loyal readers know that we only made extensive improvements and changes to the testing cycle of the processors about eight months ago (version 04/2021). Many of these ideas remain; We’re primarily focused on gaming performance again this year, but we’re raising the bar with new standards and changing testing conditions. The full list of games used can be found in the table on the next page. The result is an interesting analysis of current processors reflecting performance in 2022. Above all, multi-core usage has been taken into account, as there are expected to be more CPU cores by the end of the year. Of course, applications will also find their place in the final performance indicator, but always in order.

AMD instead of Nvidia. finally?

The biggest innovation in the testing platform for processor standards is again the graphics card. Instead of the Asus ROG Geforce RTX 3090 Strix OC, we are now using the Asus TUF RX 6900 XT. We understand the criticism that the driver over the Nvidia RTX 3090 generates at the CPU limit. The AMD card allows us to fine-tune the graphics details of the games used, and we use modern ray-tracing shaders whenever possible, as this has been shown to overload the processor. It is also important for us to create a buffer so that the graphics card is not limited to future processor generations and can show its full potential.
