The UWP app for the instant messaging service WhatsApp from the Microsoft Store for Windows 11 and Windows 10 will receive archiveable conversations and reactions in the future. An identical beta version of the messenger is currently in the testing phase, as is the website Newer Windows mentioned.
Users using WhatsApp as a UWP app on Windows should be able to reply to messages with emojis in the future. The developers of the messenger are using the internal social network Instagram, which also belongs to the parent company Meta on Facebook and already offers this type of interaction, as a model for this new feature. This should allow feelings to be expressed more quickly.
In the latest WhatsApp v2.2208.1 beta, it is also assumed that it will be possible to archive chats and access already archived conversations, as WhatsApp users are already accustomed to the mobile app for Android and iOS.
The current beta version of UWP’s WhatsApp, which recently got a dark mode and emoji panel, is expected to be tested for a few more months.
