Euphoria Season 3 Trailer Featuring Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney in Zendaya's final Breaking Bad appearance.
The new season of "Euphoria" premieres on HBO on April 12.
After four years of waiting, Euphoria's third season is less than two weeks away. The HBO drama's brand new trailer that premiered on Monday proves just how much things have changed for Zendaya's Rue and her old high school classmates.
Euphoria was HBO's first YA drama: a scandalous mix of drugs, sex, and metatheatre. Now the cast of Euphoria has left high school and entered the real world - including OnlyFans, family struggles and drug use.
That means more mature material for the show's cast, some of whom have used the show as a career launch pad: Emmy-winning Zendaya is consistently churning out blockbusters, Jacob Ellordi was recently nominated for an Academy Award, and (often controversial) two-time Emmy nominee Sidney Sweeney has made a record as a producer and actor.
Euphoria also suffered losses in the years between seasons: Angus Cloud, who played Fez, died of a drug overdose in 2023.And Eric Dane died in February, less than a year after going public with his ALS diagnosis. This season will be his final appearance as Cal.
With the third season of Euphoria just around the corner, check out the latest trailer here.
Rue is in hot water with drug dealers...again
After getting involved with drug dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly), Rue quit using drugs at the end of season two.But the trailer for the new season shows Rue delving even deeper into the drug business, with DEA agents questioning whether she's ever been to Mexico.Cut to Rue apparently swallowing plastic-wrapped drug pellets, presumably to get her across the border.
However, there is a hint that Ryu may be trying to find a way out by working with the feds — something that will no doubt cause a lot of drama for Zendaya's character this season.
Unfortunately, it looks like Laurie wasn't left out either."What happened to you?"we hear Laurie say in the trailer."Alamo tried to kill me," says a battered-looking Rue."He'll do the same to you."
Who is Alamo? It could be the drug dealer played by Adewale Akinuoye-Agbaje, who walks around the compound wearing a cowboy hat and stuffing bullets into a golden gun.
He's not the only one left to worry about. The trailer also hints at a new character, played by Darrell Britt-Gibson, who is seen wearing an American psycho raincoat and carrying a bloody electric drawing knife and yelling at a plumber.
Ali is back - and there is reason to worry
One person who serves as a guide for Rue is her sponsor, Ali, played by Colman Domingo.Ali offers her some words of wisdom and a stern warning about the path she's going down."The real disease is that people no longer know the difference between right and wrong," he says."You are poisoning children for money ... you are evil."
The trailer shows Ali facing a medical problem this season as the footage cuts to him on oxygen in a hospital bed.
Cassie and Nate get married, but neither is happy
Sweeney's Cassie and Elordi's Nate have the most awkward relationship of Season 2, when they hook up behind Maddy's (Alexa Demie) back, Cassie's best friend and Nate's on-again, off-again boyfriend. The trailer shows that the two are not just together - they're getting married. But while Nate smiles at the altar, Cassie isn't happy about walking down the aisle with her mother (Alanna Ubach).very on how he is not, since happier.
Maddie and Casey reunite
The former best friends fought against each other in the Season 2 finale, but they reunited and Maddie helped Cassie film for her OnlyFans account. When Cassie tells Nate that she's having another affair with her ex, he says the words you don't want to hear from your husband: "My Maddie?"
It's unclear exactly what Maddy wants from Cassie, but later we see Maddy at a club that appears to be with Rosalía - a stranger to the actress, who is wearing a jeweled necklace in the joke. The singer and actress was earlier seen in the trailer on the dance floor at a club called Silver Slipper.
Jules and Cal meet
The new season features Jules (Hunter Schafer) as an art student appearing as a sugar baby, a job that apparently allows him to reconnect with Cal, Nate's father. In the show's first season, Cal and Jules had sex when Jules was underage, which led to Cal being arrested at the end of season 2. Here, though, Cal seems to be out of prison and in what appears to be a good spirit."Do you remember me?"asks Which is wearing a gray suit.To which he replies, "How could I forget?"
Dane returned to Euphoria shortly after announcing his ALS diagnosis in April 2025. Speaking to People, the former Grey's Anatomy star said he felt "lucky" to be back.
Lexi is growing up
Lexi (Maud Apatow) can once again be seen in a different TV show than her peers. She works for a producer, played by Sharon Stone, who tells Lexi that the network really liked the storyline she pitched for a series they are working on.
In the trailer, she also calls out her childhood best friend Rue for using drugs again and, in a conversation with Rue and Maddy later on, says what we’re all usually thinking when we watch the Euphoria gang: “What is wrong with you people?!”
Euphoria Season 3 premieres on April 12.
