A week after his narrow victory over satirist Oliver Welk, a new contender came again from ZDF, this time dubbed the “Jauch vs. Lights” duel. Horst Lichter is currently based on ZDF in the afternoon with his hit show “Bares for Rares”. Rheinlander was previously known as a television chef. One would think that culinary questions would be a favorite of the 60-year-old audience. But here of all the places he stumbled to choose…
What cream cheese do you use in tiramisu?
The two opponents competed against each other to earn money for their studio viewer blocks. In several rounds they had to answer questions of different categories. In the Autos & Traffic category, Horst Lechter managed to shine flawlessly, but he started to sweat a lot in the first round when it came to food questions. When host Oliver Bucher asked about the cream cheese used in the tiramisu, the TV chef was dumbfounded and didn’t know the answer. “I should know something about that!” He groaned for a pick, but that didn’t help. Gunter Gautsch could not answer the question either. “Mascarpone!” Bucher answered the question, shaking his head.

Horst Lichter treated the blackout with humor. “Oh, that’s causing problems at home,” the TV chef joked. And so the first round went to Günther Jauch. But there was also another nutritional question that Lachter couldn’t answer. For the more complex question, “Meatball got its name because…?” , choose the answer option “It’s fried”. However, the phrase “because it is round” could have been correct. “Food issues are not his thing,” host Oliver Bucher said of the apprentice chef and former restaurateur.
Horst Lichter: “I was making money with food…”
But things got worse. On a “true or false” guessing round shortly before the end, Pocher read this steep thesis: “Not a single restaurant in New York bears a Michelin star.” Correct statement – said Lichter. why? “I was there. There are wonderful places and extraordinary things. But if that is the case, it must be relatively new.” How can you fool yourself as an expert … Bucher explained: “In New York there are 48 restaurants with one star, twelve with two and five It has three. It is one of the most culinary capitals of the world!” Horst Lichter meekly: “I made money with food…”
However, it was not a used television evening for Horst Lichter. In the last round, the presenter of “Bares for Rares” advanced with trump cards and managed to narrowly win the duel against Günther Jauch. Viewers of his “own” half of the studio were pleased with about 50,000 euros.
