The Most Compelling Feature of the Revamped iPad Pro and Its Delayed Launch

Apple fans who have been eagerly awaiting the release of a new iPad Pro model may have to wait a little longer than expected. The tech giant did not announce any iPad upgrades last year and the highly anticipated OLED iPad Pro has been delayed once again.

Originally rumored to launch in November alongside the M3 MacBook Pro models, the OLED iPad Pro has faced technical challenges that have pushed back its release date. Suppliers have been struggling to keep display yields high, leading to the delay in production.

Apple has partnered with Samsung and LG to produce the OLED panels for the iPad Pro models, with LG set to supply almost 60% of the total panels. While LG has met Apple’s quality standards and requirements, Samsung has been facing lower-than-expected yields for the 11-inch panel.

In an effort to overcome production challenges, Apple has transferred some OLED orders from Samsung to LG Display. Despite these setbacks, the tech giant is reportedly gearing up for an early May launch of the OLED iPad Pro models.

The May launch will be a month later than the rumored time frame and will coincide with Apple’s WWDC 2024 event, where the company is expected to announce new updates for its products. While fans may have to wait a little longer for the new iPad Pro models, the delay could result in a more polished and perfected product when it finally hits the market. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated release.
