The first missile warning in Tel Aviv since August

The region has not calmed down since the killing of a Palestinian prisoner. There are always attacks. Missiles are falling on Israel again.

There was a missile alert in the Tel Aviv area on Wednesday. Sirens wailed in the city center and residents of the Mediterranean city rushed to shelters. This is the first such alert in the city center since August last year. Explosions can also be heard.

Sirens were already sounding in several cities on the border with the Gaza Strip. Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired several rockets into Israeli territory. Local sources in Gaza reported that the rockets were fired in response to Israeli attacks in the coastal area. The IDF initially only confirmed the missile alert.

An attack on Islamic Jihad targets

The Israeli Air Force had earlier attacked several targets of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian security sources said that military installations and Jihad facilities were bombed. According to hospital reports, at least one Palestinian was killed.

The Israeli Air Force killed three senior members of the Islamic Jihad movement on Tuesday night. A total of 13 people were killed in the Israeli airstrikes on the coastal strip, among them many women and children. Also, two members of a Palestinian armed group were killed in an Israeli attack on a car in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday. According to the military, they were said to have transported anti-tank guided missiles.

Several factions in the Gaza Strip announced reprisals. The Israeli army justified the military strike with several attacks from the Gaza Strip in recent weeks. Most recently, Palestinian militants fired dozens of rockets and mortars into Israeli territory after the killing of a Palestinian prisoner last week.
