Air Force agrees to contract extension with PSI
Under this contract, PSI provides technical support for the USAF’s chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) expertise programs and its Occupational and Environmental Health (OEH) program. This includes assisting training and management staff to determine what resources, manpower and equipment are needed.
This contract period was not sought under traditional full and and open competition status because the awarded company indicated its willingness to continue services under the terms of the contract with the USAF that was awarded in 2011.
With this extension in place, the notice states that the period of service has begun as of Tuesday, Dec. 1, and will last until Monday, May 30. The cost of the extension to this contract was not released.
According to the notice, utilizing a different contractor to provide these services would not be in favor of the federal government. Citing unforeseen circumstances, the notice indicates that this bridging contract would allow the solicitation of a future contract in this area.
