San Diego to host biotechnology conference in 2016
The conference brings together leading industry experts and representatives from global companies. The 2015 conference held in Montreal, Canada, was attended by 1,200 people representing 50 countries and 37 U.S. states.
“More than 400 biotechnology companies call San Diego their 'home,' which makes it an exciting venue to host the world’s largest conference dedicated to promoting next-generation biobased products, renewable chemicals and biofuels,” BIO Executive Vice President for Industrial and Environmental Brent Erickson said. “With California’s growing industrial biotech sector, BIO is excited to host the 2016 World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology in the center of it all.”
BIO also said that a call for proposals and scientific papers for panels and sessions will begin Sept. 17. Those wishing to present at the conference should submit abstracts and proposals within a specified area. Areas of interest for this conference include synthetic biology, genomics, specialty chemicals, research presentations, biofuels and bio-refinery platforms and other areas.
This conference is set to take place at the San Diego Convention Center.
