Kratos receives $12 million missile defense task order

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, Inc. said Monday its Defense and Rocket Support Services (DRSS) received a task order under a theoretical research and engineering research contract from an unnamed client for approximately $12 million for ballistic missile defense and scientific research programs.

 "Kratos supports many of our country's critical national security programs, and our entire organization is committed to providing cost-effective, technologically advanced products and solutions to meet evolving mission requirements for our customers," DRSS Division President Dave Carter said.

The company ssaid due to the nature of the client, additional information cannot be released in relation to this award. The company has received an initial $6.38 million and the contract has the possible extension with an additional $5.64 million under this task order.

 Kratos is focused on the development of solutions, services, technology and mission critical systems and products for U.S. national security procedures and purposes. The company has specialization areas including communication, computing, command and control, surveillance and reconnaissance, unmanned systems, combat and intelligence services, missile defense, cyber warfare and other areas relating to military and defense operations.

The company employs approximately 3,100 people, and a majority of its work is performed on military bases, significant infrastructure locations and secure facilities. Primary clients include those associated with national security.
