John Ornell appointed to Bruker Corp.'s board of directors

Bruker Corp. has appointed John Ornell to serve on the company's board of directors, they announced on Thursday.

His initial term will last until the end of the 2016 annual stockholders' meeting. He also has been appointed to the board's Audit Committee.

“John Ornell is another outstanding addition to Bruker’s board of directors," Bruker President and CEO Frank Laukien said. "His excellent track record in our industry, and John’s broad experience in operational finance, systems implementation, international operations, tax planning and as CFO of a very successful company will enable John to provide further momentum to our transformation and to shareholder value creation at Bruker.”

Prior to his appointment, Ornell retired as the CFO of Waters Corp in 2013. He began his work with Waters in 1994 and was appointed to the CFO position in 2001.

Bruker is focused on the development of scientific applications and tools that allow researchers in the life sciences to continue their work. According to the corporation, their technology has been used in molecular research, pharmaceuticals, nano-analysis and in clinical research and diagnostics.

"I look forward to assisting Bruker and its management team in their ongoing operational improvement efforts to drive enhanced operating margins.”
