AirBoss to provide DoD with CBRN protective over-boots

AirBoss of America Corp., a North American custom rubber product manufacturer, has been awarded two new contracts by the U.S. Department of Defense valued at $20 million for CBRN protective gear.
As part of the contract, AirBoss will supply the DoD with up to 240,000 pairs of chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear protective over-boots and up to 400,000 pairs of CBRN protective gloves, RTT News reports.
The company said that it has received immediate orders against the contracts for 100,000 pairs of over-boots and 128,000 pairs of gloves with an approximate value of $7 million. The deliveries against the initial orders will be completed in the first quarter of 2012.
In addition, AirBoss said that it has started production on the first major contract for the infection molded CBRN over-boot for the Canadian military. That total order is for approximately $2.5 million.
According to a press release, Airboss of America develops, manufactures and sells high quality, proprietary rubber-based products that offer enhanced performance and productivity to transportation, industrial and military markets. The company has a capacity to supply more than 250 million pounds of rubber annually to a diverse group of rubber manufacturers.
