Holomic introduces new test reader
The device, the HRDR-400, features a built-in smartphone that allows data collection through a cloud service and it can connect to a wide array of information. It would be the first device of its kind to be offered
"We are responding to requests from our customers," Holomic CEO Neven Karlovac said. "Today, most rapid test immunoassays on the market are gold or other nanoparticle-based chromatographic tests. On the other hand, many manufacturers are working on new fluorescent tests for their sensitivity and quantitative capabilities, and all signs point to an accelerating trend. Manufacturers would naturally want to have one reader for all their tests of either kind and in any type of package. The HRDR-400 is designed to meet this very specific need."
This device would be utilized for telemedicine, point-of-care and global monitoring applications. It would also be effective in a manufacturing or laboratory setting as a low cost alternative.
The HRDR-400 and its counterparts, the 200 and 300 models, are available on global markets. In the U.S. they are to be used in research only.
