DHS to host outbreak management webinar

The latest webinar in the Capacity Building Webinar Series will be hosted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate's First Responder Group (FRG) and the National Information Sharing Consortium at 1 p.m. EST on Oct. 23.

The program, titled "Detecting and Monitoring Disease and Illness Outbreaks: Data Sources and Systems for Public Health and Emergency Management Officials," aims to improve the handling of disease outbreaks.

The presentation will feature Deputy Director of the DHS Office of Health Affairs National Biosurveillance Integration Center Dr. Theresa Quintugua, Medical Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Influenza Division Dr. Michael Jhung and Program Manager for the Department of Health and Human Services Division of International Health Security, Office of the Assistant for Preparedness and Response Lt. Cody Thornton.
