Holocaust FC suffered a crushing defeat in the semifinals of the Saxony-Anholt State Football Cup. The third division team lost 1: 2 (1: 1) to Oberlika Club Wernigerod on Saturday, although they were leading but two classes played less. After Marcel Ditch-Rivero scored 1-0 (14th minute), Kevin Hildock (43rd, penalty kick) and Eric Weinhour (67th) turned the game around. Vernicerot 1. FC will face Magdeburg in the final on May 21, thus qualifying for the first round of the DFB Cup.

At first everything went according to HFC plan. Titsch-Riveiro gave the favorites the lead and were 2-0 (28th) on their feet. Midfielder Vernigrode lost to goalkeeper Andre Helmstead, who blocked the second goal with another amazing performance against Michael Eberwein (40th). Almost in return, Sebastian Fossell fouled unit player Wayne Hour in his own penalty area.
This compensation led to a break in Hall’s game, which did not create significant chances. Wenhour completed the counterattack to give Oberlica Club a 2-1 lead. The HFC then ran headlong and could not find a decisive break in the horse defenses.
