Sega shows the launch trailer for the remaster

In the Sonic Origins collection, Sega has reworked four classic adventures of the blue hedgehog with additional game modes and many more additions. For example, in Anniversary mode, all parts can be played with infinite lives. Of course, the mandatory launch trailer should not be missing at first.

Sonic Origins… four classic sonic games …

Sonic Origins… back as delimiter

Sonic Origins contains four Sonic the Hedgehog games, Sonic 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles, originally released between 1991 and 1994 for the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Mega CD. All four can be played in Classic mode in 4:3 format with limited lives and in the new Anniversary mode with infinite lives with an aspect ratio of 16:9. By collecting coins, you can unlock extras in a digital museum. This includes, for example, concept drawings or videos. Also new is the story mode, which combines all the games into one adventure. The transition between titles is narrated by short animated videos. If you wish, you can play through all four games such as Sonic, Tails or Knuckles, which was not possible in the original versions at the time. Sega recently introduced all the game modes in more detail in another video.

Sonic Origins is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The release date of June 23, 2022 was not chosen by chance, because the first Sonic game for Mega Drive was released on this date exactly 31 years ago.
