The dynamic of the epidemic is not weakening in France, the maximum number of 1,500 people admitted to intensive care units has been exceeded
The Covid-19 epidemic continues to gain momentum in France. The French Public Health Authority announced, on Friday evening, that it had monitored 34,364 new cases during the past 24 hours in the country. It is a slight increase compared to what it was the previous day (33464).
At the same time, the number of hospitalizations decreased significantly, with 744 people admitted compared to 778 the day before. In total, 9,181 patients have been hospitalized with Covid-19 in France, which is still 200 patients from Thursday.
Nearly 120,000 dead
The main concern for health authorities is that pressure on emergency care services remains relatively moderate, even if the trend is, again, on the rise. 176 people were admitted to intensive care units in the country within 24 hours, bringing the number of passengers to 1,563, from only 1,499 Thursday evening. As a reminder, during the peak of the epidemic, in April 2021, nearly 6,000 patients were admitted to intensive care.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic in our country, 118,837 people have died, including 91,925 in hospitals and 26,912 in nursing homes. Between Thursday and Friday, 60 patients died, compared to 73 the day before.
