Flensburg (AP) – SG Flensburg -Handewitt’s handball players have regained the first point in the opening round of the Champions League.
The draw for the North Germans took place on Wednesday 27:27 (14:13) in the presence of a local crowd against French champions Paris Saint-Germain. Hampus Vanne scored seven goals for SG. Mikel Hanson has won six times for Paris.
Thanks to the save of strong goalkeeper Benjamin Furik, the Flensburg team found the game well. At 5: 4, Simon Holt gave the first SG lead in the 13th minute with a counter-attack on a guest goal. Shortly before the break, Vanne converted seven meters to 13:10 (25th).
After the break, the poor exploitation of opportunities prevented the hosts from splitting even more clearly. So leadership became the final stage back and forth. Seconds before the end, Mets blocked a potential chance to win Mensa Larsen’s poor pass.
