Coming to Jena equipped for workshops and auto parts

The commercial area of Jena-Maua is growing. The most recent transfer is the family business WM SE, which is active throughout Europe. The company’s primary business includes trading in vehicle spare parts and accessories, tools and workshop equipment. A new sales building with a total area of 2,000 square meters of storage and office space is being built on an area of approximately 5,000 square meters in the Jena-Maua Industrial Estate. The construction project began with the official groundbreaking ceremony at the beginning of March. The new sales outlet is supposed to start operating already in January 2023. The company intends to hire 20 new employees in the future.

“We are pleased to be able to further expand our sales network with the new location in Jena and allow our customers to benefit from optimal availability and delivery capacity,” said Michael Hope, Managing Director of WM SE. “We decided on Jena because we can further the strategic direction here in a future-oriented way.” According to Michael Hobby, in addition to the customer structure, the potential conditions and the framework for the sales infrastructure were also important. In total, WM SE supplies more than 130,000 customers per day and has more than 200 outlets in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic and the USA.

The Managing Director of Jena Economic Development Agency is pleased to settle in the Jena-Maua Industrial Estate: “We welcome every company that maintains and expands local value chains on site and we wish WM SE all the best for its new build.” Maua is well suited for such a project: “Jena owns All prerequisites for successful sales. Central location in central Germany, good motorway connectivity – especially from southern Jena – and of course successful local businesses.” So there is a lot of potential for a successful relocation to the Jena-Maua location.
