Beatrice Egli, 33, trained on this adventure for almost a year, and yesterday she achieved her goal: she and her mountain guide Susanne Hauser (54) on Thursday climbed 4,478 meters in the Matterhorn, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
“When I left at 4:30 in the morning it all seemed unreal to me. But after a few hours, I was really there, I was allowed to enjoy the amazing view, and as I took a deep breath, I realized what I had achieved,” she says of her conquest of the summit. “All training. The sweat, the tears, the hope and despair finally paid off, and I can’t tell you how happy I am.”

Art Furrer (84) knows very well what it means to climb Horu. The Valais legend has climbed Switzerland’s most famous mountain more than 20 times – most recently at the age of 80. No time to rest after Horo’s ascent
For the pop star, relaxing at first is not the order of the day after a mountain tour.
