Experts are warning of very high expectations for the digital euro

Frankfurt If the digital euro comes in the form it has developed so far, it will not represent a revolution, then it will be a suitable cash alternative for private use. This is how the experts’ comments on the European Central Bank (ECB) plans can be summed up.

According to Handelsblatt’s information, there is already consensus on important key points. It is possible that users of digital euros will not receive any interest in them, and in return there should be no negative interest.

Also, the digital currency is unlikely to be based on blockchain technology. And: every citizen should only be able to provide the maximum amount of digital euros – say 3000 euros – in an electronic wallet (wallet).
