Suspected salmonella: recall of large eggs in northern Germany

The Danish company Danaeg recalled certain batches of eggs marketed in northern Germany. The company announced over the weekend that it is strongly advised not to eat infected eggs.

As part of quality control, a suspicion of salmonella arose.

Salmonella Danger: Affected by these products

Products “DANÆG Große Freiheit 6 Stck” (EAN 5701105522668), “DANÆG Frei 10 Stck” (EAN 5701105526154) and “DANÆG Galina Free Range Eggs 6 Stck” (EAN 5701105526925) were affected. Eggs are best before 11/01/2021, 11/3/2021, 11/5/2021, 11/8/2021, 11/10/2021, 11/11/2021, 11/12/2021. or 15.11.2021 and print number 1DK081131.

It has not been revealed exactly where the eggs were sold in northern Germany.

Salmonella Danger: Eggs Withdrawn From Sale

Salmonella can be accompanied by diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and fever. Infants, young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems in particular can get very sick.

The company said infected eggs had been taken out of stores. So customers can return eggs for a refund without presenting the receipt in store.
