Radiation Shield Technologies (RST) presented new products at the 2015 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Conference that took place this week.

Equipment that was featured included the new items in the company’s Demron line, which includes full-body suits, suppression blankets against radiological dispersion devices -- also known as dirty bombs -- and antinuclear vests.

“In an ever-changing world where the threats to our first responders are ever changing, RST is proud to continue to meet a growing global demand for our advanced personal-protection technologies and expand our innovative product offerings,” Dr. Ronald DeMeo, RST president, surgeon and creator of Demron, said.

During the conference, the new Demron technology underwent radiological testing as a part of a demonstration. The Demron ICE suit was prominently featured at the conference. The company stated that it is the first suit of its kind capable of protecting the wearer from pathogens, chemical and other biological threats.

The conference offers professional development and networking between businesses that are focused in equipment and technology manufacturing in first response, counter chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (C-CBRN), civil and military defense activities.

The Demron product line consists of radiopaque material that is integrated between fabric layers, facilitating radiation protection.
