FEMA seeks emergency management mitigation specialists

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced openings for emergency management specialists in mitigation on Wednesday.

There are currently three vacancies: one in Albany County, New York, one in New York City and one at the Earle Naval Ammunition Depot in New Jersey.

For this position, U.S. citizenship, selective service registration and the ability to pass a background investigation are required. The position’s primary focuses are managing and providing insight on agreements, grants and other related areas. This person can expect to carry out statistical analyses and financial performance evaluations, reviews on grant proposals and documentation required to fund grant projects. This person will also correspond with grant awardees in cases of problems that occur during the project period and will be expected to gain information in order to determine if modifications are necessary.

For this position, at least one year of working experience at the GS-11 level of government or an equivalent position is required. Specialized experience includes the evaluation of grant proposals, and administration of related issues and analytical experience are required.
