FEMA announces open positions
The logistics management specialist will serve as a service branch director and is located in Chicago. This position will be tasked with management activities relating to incident service. This person will be expected to coordinate response and recovery support on federal levels for natural and man-made incidents and disasters.
When not deployed this position will take part in training exercises at multiple levels of government and will be expected to provide instruction of disaster-related information to authorities regionally, statewide and locally.
For this position candidates should have at least one year of working experience that is equivalent to an AD-02 level position that is able to demonstrate the candidate’s ability to lead the logistics section of the service branch. Those with a doctorate or an equivalent level of graduate level education will also be qualified.

In this announcement the agency also announced that a contract specialist position is open in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
This position is tasked with the planning of procurement actions before and after an award is granted. This person will also be involved in the planning and preparation of acquisition plans, schedules and milestone charts.
For this position, candidates will need at least one year of experience at either the GS-12 or GS-13 level of government work or equivalent. Specialized experience should include contract negotiation, awarding and administration.
