LA Metro seeks homeland security specialist

The Los Angeles Metro is seeking an opening for a senior emergency homeland security specialist.

This position is largely responsible for the development, monitoring, planning, implementation and other activities relating to preparedness, emergency management and homeland security practices. This includes the identification of training needs across the office and will be tasked with conducting training sessions for staff and contractors.

This person will also act as a representative for the Emergency and Homeland Security
Preparedness Manager and will serve as a liaison to external agencies within the city or county.

This position requires a bachelor's degree in an area related to: emergency preparedness, administration, law or any other applicable field. This position also requires three years of working experience within an area of emergency preparedness, planning, exercise design, instruction or other related area.

Candidates should also have Federal Emergency Management Agency Incident Command System Certification at levels 100, 200 and independent study credits for levels 700 and 800. Further certification is desired including: 120, 130, 139, 230, 235, 546, 547 and 548.

Candidates must have a valid Class C California drivers license; should have a strong understanding of emergency preparedness operations; and should have the ability to write, revise for the purposes of planning.
