SPA awarded contract to assist Defense Department's JIDA

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) announced Monday it has been awarded a one-year contract with possible extensions to provide assistance to the Acquisition Policy and Oversight Division of the Joint Improvised-Threat Agency (JIDA).

JIDA, an agency within the Department of Defense, focuses on the protection and countermeasures against improvised explosive devices. They are also involved in the department's activities relating to counterterrorism and counterinsurgency activities.

"The SPA team is excited about this opportunity to support JIDA as they undergo a significant transition and broadening mission following the Iraq/Afghanistan wars," SPA President and CEO Kirk Donald said. "SPA has a long-standing reputation for unrivaled technical and analytical support to executive decision makers throughout the Department of Defense, and we are honored to be selected to provide our expertise and experience in support of JIDA's critically important mission."

The contract has a potential total value of $7.3 million

The company's focus within the agreement will be on the development and improvement of processes, procedure and policy of acquisition practices taken on at JIDA. This includes areas relating to governance and a variety of tools utilized by the agency. This will include areas of project management, reporting, systems analysis among other items.
