Senior planners sought for national conventions
Both national conventions are considered to be national security special events. Positions will be responsible for the developmental support of emergency management contingency plans in accordance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Response Directorate. This is a temporary position that will last for one year beginning in August.
Candidates for both events must hold a bachelor's degree in an area relating to management, finance or business. They will also be required to have 10 years of working experience that has a progression of responsibility in the area of operations planning. Candidates should have at least eight years of experience with emergency management preparedness, and special consideration will be given to those who have experience within a disaster operations and planning capacity. Candidates should also have at least five years of management or leadership experience overseeing a group of at least 10 individuals.
This position will require project management, and candidates should express experience with the management of governmental contracts. While not required, special consideration will be given to applicants with an Emergency Manager Certification.
