OKARNG seeks an emergency management coordinator

The Oklahoma Army National Guard (OKARNG) has an opening for an emergency management coordinator, it announced in a job posting on Tuesday.

The emergency management coordinator will be in charge of the execution of the OKARNG's Emergency Management Plan, which involves management and assistance for all emergency management-related activity. This person will also be expected to integrate and synchronize plans and operational objectives with the Oklahoma Office of Emergency Management.

The emergency management coordinator will be expected to advise and assist in the development of Joint Force Headquarters response plans to all types of potential threats. This position will be responsible for interacting with officials from state, local, tribal and federal levels of government. The emergency management coordinator will also be tasked with assisting and advising activity in multiple areas within the OKARNG which may include: conducting quarterly reporting, development and coordination of emergency management exercises and assessments, as well as analyzing and publishing this information among other items.

This position requires a minimum of five years of working experience in a related area with at least a high school education. Baseline education would include 12 National Incident Management System courses. The following positions or similar positions would be indicative of experience: emergency manager, fire services training chief or fire chief, emergency exercise coordinator, associate, bachelor's or master's degrees in emergency management or preparedness, among other positions and educational certificates.
