Avon Protection introduces new CBRN mask

Avon Protection, a respiratory protection systems developer, introduced its new Helmet Mask Kombination System (HMK) to visitors at last week's Counter Terror Expo London 2014.

HMK150 is specifically designed for CBRN respiratory protection and riot control. Avon joined with Schuberth, a German helmet manufacturer, to integrate Avon's HM50 face mask to the Schuberth P100N helmet. By exchanging a harness for helmet connecting straps, the full face mask converts to be compatible with the P100N helmet.

Features include air flow management, unique visor technology, a lightweight slim profile and left or right filter canister mounting options. HMK150 also integrates with Avon's range of accessories.

"We are excited to have introduced the HMK150 to the personal protective equipment market," John Penton, the sales director for Avon Protection in Europe and Asia Pacific, said. "Its simple rapid donning connects the full face respirator to the helmet to deliver continuous head and respiratory protection. The HMK150 brings enhanced protection to riot control which we have not seen before."

Avon's HM50 face mask is used in more than 58 countries worldwide. The P100N helmet is approved to the most advanced German police specifications in non-CBRN environments.

Avon presented the HMK150 during the police, military and emergency responders workshop in the CBRN stream on Tuesday.
