International CBRNE Institute opens in Europe

The Grand Opening of the International CBRNE Institute took place on October 5, marking the establishment of a CBRNE training facility in Europe.

The institute was developed by the executive team of Hotzone Solutions Group. Emmanuel Wart, mayor of the municipality, opened the event and said the establishment of the institute will help support the European Union's initiative to develop the rural areas of Europe.

Director of the United Nations Mine Action Service Agnès Marcaillou accepted a role as patron of the institute and spoke at its opening, Marcaillou highlighted the importance of having a facility in Europe that can offer expertise and training on CBRNE weapons. She said the opening of the ICI is perfectly timed to help prepare the region for current and emerging threats.

ICI President and CEO/Co-Owner of Hotzone Solutions Group Dieter Rothbacher said the ICI is a non-profit, independent organization that will provide international CBRNE training, expertise and administrative to leaders in the region.

The event welcomed 142 guests, including representatives from NATO, EDA, OPCW and the EU. The attendees witnessed the ribbon-cutting ceremony and were given a tour of the facility.

The ICI is equipped with audio, video and conference technology and uses HZS's CBRNE training tools and simulation technology. The public was given an open house on October 6.
